This Volunteering Newcastle workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams by Children North East’s neurodiversity team, who have extensive experience delivering youth and family work with neurodiverse communities.
The session will offer an introduction to understanding neurodivergency/neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD. It will introduce the lived experience of neurodivergent communities and will highlight the societal barriers they often face. The workshop will offer a chance to think about how you and your organisation can address and reduce or remove these barriers, so you can be more inclusive in your volunteer practices.
This workshop is for anyone supporting volunteers in their role. Please note, due to this project’s funding requirements, you must live in the North of Tyne area to attend this training.
The training will take place on Tuesday 27th February 2024, 10:00-12:30. You can sign up for the session here: Introduction to Understanding Neurodivergency and Neurodiversity | Connected Voice
