Adult Leaders

Volunteering as a Leader can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.

Getting involved in either Beavers, Cubs or Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to experience opportunities where you’ll:

  • Make new friends and meet people
  • Try new things and challenge yourself
  • Get outdoors and get involved
  • Positively impact your community
  • Create vital opportunities for young people
  • Make memories that'll last a lifetime
  • Help to plan and deliver a programme of fun activities
  • Be fully trained in your role
  • Have fun!

The Scout Associations award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people. Our approach focuses on what you want to get out of volunteering with Scouting, while respecting how much time you can offer. Over 90% of Scout volunteers say that these new skills and experiences have been useful in their work or personal life.

How much time you give is up to you, and you don’t need any previous experience. Scouting have a huge variety of roles to suit everyone, and whatever role you choose, we’ll make sure you’re properly trained and supported.
