Main duties and responsibilities:
These can be many and varied. Every befriending relationship is unique depending on the needs of the person. Manual Handling training will be available if required, (eg you are matched with a wheelchair user who requires assistance)
We are looking for people who can develop an effective relationship with a service-user:
- Call, text or mail on a regular basis OR conduct doorstep visits after receiving the appropriate COVID-19 training / briefing
- Collect shopping / prescriptions for service-users
This role forms part of Volunteer Passport Scheme Newcastle and requires you to complete one day of training with Newcastle City Learning. If you would like to apply please email Pam.Robinson@volunteeringmatters.org.uk

- To be reliable
- To be consistent
- To maintain confidentiality
- To let the person with whom they have been matched, the carer or the Befriending Co-ordinator know if they are unable to make the visit on the day and time that has been arranged
