Enchanted City: From City Streets to Cosmic Skies

This December, adventurers of all ages are invited to experience a night of cosmic wonder, as Enchanted City transforms Northumbria University’s City Campus after dark.

Enchanted City is a new annual Winter event, and for its inaugural year we’re inviting you to join us on a cosmic voyage to discover the science behind the stars, the beauty of the constellations, and the thrill of space exploration.

Powered by the creativity of regional, national, and international artists, Enchanted City will take everyone on a family-friendly journey to galaxies near and far. Don’t forget to look up — the universe is waiting for you! 

We are looking for volunteers (18+) to support Enchanted City from Thursday 11th December 2025 to Sunday 14th December 2025. We want friendly faces to help welcome visitors, support artists, and to make this event sparkle for all attendees.

This December, adventurers of all ages are invited to experience a night of cosmic wonder, as Enchanted City transforms Northumbria  University’s City Campus after dark. Enchanted City will feature space-inspired projection, light installations, fire, performance, interactive workshops and more.

Volunteering opportunities include:

• Friendly Wayfinders across the event site
• Box Office & Meet & Greet support
• Art Zone support – supporting artist workshop
