Fawdon Community Centre Volunteer Gardener

Gardener responsibilities include monitoring the health of all plants and outdoor garden areas, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter.

You should know how to use and maintain equipment, including mowers, trimmers.


  • Install and maintain seasonal plants
  • Mow, trim and fertilize garden areas
  • Weed gardens
  • Prune and trim trees and bushes
  • Use gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
  • Monitor and maintain the health of plants
  • Keep gardens and garden areas clear of debris and litter


  • Knowledge of gardening techniques
  • Knowledge of plant and flower care techniques
  • Ability to use professional mowing, trimming and pruning equipment
  • Strong manual skills
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team

We encourage 2 shifts per month but are grateful for any gift of time you can offer. Monday – Friday 10am – 2pm
