The role may include:
- Sorting, checking and pricing clothes, books and other items for sale
- Looking up pricing in catalogues and on the internet
- Stocking shelves and clothes rails
Skills
- An interest in charity retail work
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexibly as tasks arise
What does the opportunity offer:
- Hands on experience in a complex charity shop environment, which can be useful for a CV or reference
- An opportunity to develop personal capabilities and skills for working in retail, as part of a team
- Training in shop "backroom" operations, with the option to take part in "front of shop" operations such as managing the till, talking to customers, helping to recruit new volunteers and making window and shelf displays
- Possibly the opportunity to train as a team supervisor
- The opportunity to work with Oxfam to overcome poverty and suffering
- The opportunity to apply for internally advertised positions
