Informal Language Skills Lead

We are looking for skilled English Language Facilitators with experience of supporting those with English as a second language.

You will use the collections and handling objects available at the Shipley Art Gallery as inspiration to start conversations. You will be supported to explore these and develop your sessions to inspire you and the participants in informal conversation.


We are not asking for any professional qualifications but experience in supporting people whose English is their second language and / or a good understand of supporting people in developing English.

We have one volunteer who has started to develop the programme already and you will be supported by TWAM staff to settle in and understand the programmes developing offer.

    You are required to sign up as a volunteer through Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums. You will receive a general induction and be supported with an in role induction and ongoing support.
