Log A Wildlife Sighting

ERIC Ne (Environmental Records Information Centre for the North East of England) are based at the Great North Museum.

Wildlife recorders from beginners to experts are needed for the worldwide wildlife recording event, the City Nature Challenge, coming up on 29 April - 2 May.

All you have to do is take a photo and upload it! You will be joining a collaborative (and slightly competitive) event taking place right round the world. Last year more than 41,000 people in 244 "cities" took part in the challenge and made over 815,000 observations of 32,000+ species.

Recording wildlife is a really positive action to take which really helps nature and also improves your own wellbeing!

Your sightings will be added to our central database and used by a variety of ecological and conservation organisations.

  • Sign up and log onto the ERIC wildlife recording portal
  • Record your wildlife sightings as you see them on our website
  • Anything from daisies and common birds through to the most elusive species can be recorded

ERIC North East collect species and habitat data for the region which is used to for Ecological decision making and conservation. Help support the region's wildlife by logging your sightings on the ERIC North East recording portal.
