MultiBubble Corporate Volunteer

In our Hedleys Day Service’s, we have a room that is is used for visual therapy (projected onto the wall). The room needs a full repaint on three walls with a calming warm neutral colour ( currently grey ☹) and the third wall painted white for the bubble projections! There is an additional curved wall ( pictured in brief) that is painted Percy Hedley purple. This should stay however we would love to see this brightened up with a complimentary painted design or decoupaged design such as a tree/ rainbow/ stars/ planets etc. We will provide the paints (but happy to accept donations too!)

Experience of painting and decorating is required for this role.

Brief description of project:

• Paint walls (calming/neutral colour)
• Paint an area of one wall white (for projector)
• Possibly a mural or similar on curved purple wall?

Describe expected outcomes to beneficiaries after work is completed:

• A (much-needed) fresh coat of paint in a more neutral (but not dull) colour would make the space more appealing/relaxing for service-users.
• A white wall would enable clearer projections (currently the wall is grey and the projections are not fully visible).
• A mural would provide relaxing/pleasing visual stimuli and would reduce the sterile/clinical feeling of the room.

If you have visited us before you will know that we try to make your day as rewarding as possible as well as well as ensuring that a good meal is enjoyed in the middle of the day. We love hosting volunteer groups and seeing the difference that can be achieved in a day?

If you can help with any of these projects we would love to chat to you! Dates can be negotiated once an initial interest is expressed. We can also arrange prior visits if required. We will provide a detailed project brief and risk assessment in advance and on the day a welcome and induction will be carried out with all volunteers.
