The aim of the Volunteer Community Befriending Scheme is to be successfully matched with a service user who has been referred to the scheme by one of our healthcare professionals within CNTW.
The Volunteer Befriender and service user will come together and engage in agreed community activities that they enjoy, i.e. going for a walk, visiting the Cinema or theatre, or simply meeting for a cup of tea or anything that can help to alleviate social isolation especially in the wake of Covid-19, whilst aiming to promote people's independence, recovery and general well-being.
We ask for a commitment of 2-3 hours per week and it is hoped you can remain in this role for a minimum of 6 months.
You will receive ongoing support from the Voluntary Services team and will be able to become involved in many events taking place throughout the Trust.
You may want to gain experience, produce insight and employability skills that may help when considering a career option, learn new skills and gain valuable experience for your future, develop communication and interpersonal skills, gain confidence, self-esteem and structure, meet new people, support patients-carers and staff alike or simply use your free time in an enjoyable and positive way.
No additional details recorded for this opportunity.
