Volunteer Greeter

Marie Curie is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for our patients and their families.  We are looking for Volunteer Greeters to welcome patients and visitors when they arrive at the hospice, helping to create an enjoyable, positive atmosphere for everyone. 

Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:

  • Provide a warm and caring welcome to all patients and visitors, putting them at ease
  • Escorting them to different areas of the hospice
  • Help communication between families and staff, answering queries if appropriate
  • Pass on complicated queries to staff and give feedback where necessary
  • Arrange drinks, food and transport home for patients, if required
  • Help the reception team during busy times 
  • Help with other related tasks when necessary

What we ask of you

  • To provide two references from non-family members and other relevant documents related to the role
  • To keep to all the charity’s policies and guidelines
  • To complete an induction and any training related to the role
