Walker Youth Dance Festival Support

Support the Company of Others and help them to deliver the annual Walker Youth Dance Festival at Walker Park.

On the 9th of July, Company of Others will invite dancers from their Walker Youth Dance Project and local dance organisations to join them in Walker Park to celebrate their work and achievements over the past year. The day will include dance performances and workshops for people aged between 4 – 17.

Join us as a Volunteer Festival Support and help celebrate the artistic achievements of young people in Walker and Byker. Be part of an extraordinary one-day dance festival that showcases their talents and fosters community spirit.

Together, we'll deliver a diverse programme that features young dancers from Company of Others’ Walker Youth Dance Project, groups from local schools, and local dance schools.

Your role includes:

  • Handing out drinks to keep attendees refreshed
  • Directing people and ensuring they find their way
  • Setting up festival areas for captivating performances
  • Assisting staff with various tasks for a smooth event.

Volunteers are needed for one day, between 10 am and 5 pm (volunteers can help out for a smaller length of time if that’s more suitable for them).

No experience is needed. Join us as a Volunteer Festival Support and make a positive impact for people in Walker and Byker!

Ideally, volunteers will have a DBS.

We are happy for anyone who is enthusiastic about our work and this event to volunteer.
