Yard Assistants

This role includes:

  • Mucking out stables
  • Catching and turning out horses
  • Grooming
  • Tacking up and untacking the horses
  • Plus many more jobs

Volunteering in this area is best done on a half or full day basis. This then allows us to plan more effectively.

Times are as follows 7 days a week:

  • 8:30am -11:45am
  • 12:30pm - 4:00pm
  • Half days 8:30am -4:00pm
  • Full day


  • An interest in helping individuals with special needs to develop new skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Adaptability
  • Good sense of fun
  • Experience with horses (would be an advantage) but not necessary

    Volunteer must be 14 or over
  • DBS check required
