Every year, hundreds of runners take part in challenge events across the UK to help end homelessness. We are looking for enthusiastic Cheer Point Volunteers to join our cheer squads on the sidelines of iconic events like the London Marathon, Great North Run and Royal Parks Half Marathon. Get ready to clap, shout and motivate our runners all the way to the finish line!
You will contribute to ending homelessness by supporting all our amazing fundraisers and raising awareness of Crisis.
Your tasks may include:
- Cheering, motivating, and encouraging participants as they pass the Crisis cheer point
- Creating a lively and positive atmosphere
- Representing the charity in a friendly, positive, and respectful manner
- Following guidance from event coordinators to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone
- You will be provided a branded Crisis t-shirt to wear and cheer items to help make as much noise as possible for Team Crisis
- Please note that this role will likely involve standing for extended periods, and seating is not available

Who we are looking for
- We require no prior experience, we’re looking for individuals with energy, empathy, and a willingness to get involved
- Enthusiastic and positive individuals who enjoy supporting and motivating others, and working well within a team
- Reliable volunteers who can commit to agreed times and follow instructions
- Individuals who are passionate about supporting people affected by homelessness

- We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times
- To maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all accessible information about guests and the organisation
- Be positive, productive and have the passion to help end homelessness
- We strive to ensure that our services are welcoming, remain relevant and are fully accessible to everyone that we help and support.
- We are particularly welcoming of volunteers from diverse and other marginalised communities, as this helps us ensure the best experience for those that we are here to help. People who have lived experience of homelessness are also particularly welcome to apply.
