Role Overview

The Community Café Friend is a friendly and supportive presence in the café, helping to create a welcoming environment for community members. This volunteer role focuses on conversation, active listening, and encouraging visitors to explore opportunities for education, skills development, and employment progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage visitors in warm, positive conversation to make them feel welcome.
  • Practice active listening to understand community needs, interests, and feedback.
  • Encourage visitors to explore opportunities for education, upskilling, and employment, and share relevant information.
  • Share insights and feedback with the Community Coordinator to inform programming and support community priorities.
  • Contribute to a friendly, inclusive, and supportive café atmosphere.
