Community Intelligence Analyst

Become a Community Intelligence Assistant with Northern Cancer Voices and help ensure the experiences of people affected by cancer are heard, understood and used to improve services across our region.

You will support the collection, organisation and analysis of community feedback, helping us identify trends, needs and opportunities to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes.

Volunteer activities include:

• Reviewing feedback, surveys and lived experience stories from patients, carers and communities.
• Identifying common themes, trends and emerging issues.
• Supporting research into cancer care, health inequalities and community needs.
• Assisting with the preparation of reports, briefings and presentations.
• Helping to organise and maintain information and insight databases.
• Supporting the development of case studies and impact reports.
• Conducting online research to gather evidence and good practice examples.
• Contributing ideas to improve community engagement and intelligence gathering.
• Working with staff and volunteers to turn community insight into meaningful action.

Skills

We are looking for a volunteer who is curious, analytical and able to turn information into clear, compelling insights that can help drive positive change.

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging and professional reports, summaries and presentations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with information from multiple sources.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify key themes, trends and recommendations.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online research tools.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks independently.
• Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality.
• An interest in health, cancer care, community engagement, research, social impact or reducing inequalities.
• Experience of research, data analysis, report writing, marketing, communications, policy, public health, higher education or a related field would be beneficial but is not essential.
• A proactive approach, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to translate complex information into accessible, compelling content for a range of audiences.

Desirable but not essential:

• Degree-level study or current study in public health, social sciences, healthcare, data analysis, communications, journalism, business, policy or a related subject.
• Experience producing reports, funding evidence, business intelligence, academic work, newsletters or other written outputs.
• Experience using data visualisation, survey platforms or AI-assisted research tools.
  
• This role would particularly suit a university student, graduate, researcher, analyst, communications professional or someone looking to gain experience in insight, strategy and community intelligence.
