Drop-In Group Volunteer – Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle

As a Drop-In Group Volunteer, you will provide support to help run the activities taking place as part of a hospital-based support group for children and families.

Your role may include:

  • Setting up for the session’s activities and tidying up at the end
  • Participating in craft and play activities with children and their families - this could include games, reading, cookery or arts and crafts
  • Providing emotional support for children and their parents or carers

Your commitment:

  • Opportunities to volunteer every Thursday from 12 - 1 pm .We are looking for volunteers to support on a regular basis.

Skills

  • A warm, friendly and enthusiastic volunteer, happy to get stuck in
  • Knowledge / experience of interacting with children and young people
  • A great communicator, with excellent listening skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of the team
  • Non-judgemental
