The charity's objects are to enable and empower the local community to address all issues surrounding mental health in an effort to tackle discrimination and to reduce the stigma felt by people with mental health problems.

The charity would like to welcome new volunteers to the group to assist in its campaigns (including World Mental Health Day) to reduce the stigma and discrimination often experienced by people with mental health problems.

Skills

  • No previous experience, specific skills or qualifications in the field of mental health is necessary
  • Empathy for vulnerable adults and a belief in equal opportunities are necessary.

    Travel expenses to and from meetings can be reimbursed. Meals and refreshments will be provided at campaign events.
  • Ongoing support
    New volunteers will be supported by committee members
