PAT Volunteers take their registered PAT (Pets as Therapy) cat into Hospitals, residential homes, Day Centres and Schools in their own locality to bring comfort and companionship to service users, on a regular basis - usually once a week for about 1 - 2 hours.
All breeds of cat can become part of a PAT Team.
- Have been with their owner for at least 6 months
- Be over 9 months of age
- Be able to pass the temperament assessment
- All pets must be fully vaccinated
Volunteers needs to own a dog or cat, and the pet must have a first class temperament.
All PAT pets must be temperament assessed and registered.

When can I volunteer?

Although volunteers are not currently able to visit they are still able to register on line at https://petsastherapy.org/join-us/. We will be able to start assessments soon, this will leave the volunteer set and ready to make their payment as soon as we are able to start visiting. We would not take their payment until such time as visits can take place
