The Stroke Association relies on dedicated volunteers to create an encouraging atmosphere for runners taking part in the Great North Run. As a Cheer Station Volunteer, you’ll help motivate participants throughout the event by offering enthusiastic support along the course.
Role Description
- Encourage Stroke Association runners and all event participants by cheering, clapping and celebrating their achievements as they pass your cheer point.
- Help create an energetic and welcoming atmosphere using cheering equipment such as clappers, cowbells, pom-poms or banners provided by the event team.
- Represent the Stroke Association positively and engage with spectators who may wish to learn more about our work.
- Follow guidance from the Event Team to ensure your cheer station operates safely throughout the day.
