The Treasurer oversees Greening Wingrove’s finances and works closely with the Chair. They help make sure the organisation manages its finances properly and keep the Board updated on its financial health.
Main responsibilities
- Help prepare and present budgets, accounts, and annual financial reports
- Ensure accurate financial records and proper procedures are in place
- Support the development and use of financial policies (e.g. reserves and cost management)
- Monitor the organisation’s financial position and sustainability
- Oversee financial controls and ensure systems are followed
- Advise on financial risks and the financial impact of plans and decisions
- Help develop systems to manage and report risks
- Assist with preparing accounts and reporting to regulators
- Support the Board in understanding financial information
The board meeting is one Thursday a month 6-7.30 in person at the Bike Garden in Nuns Moor Park
Skills
- Experience in finance (voluntary sector experience is a bonus, but not essential)
- Good strategic thinking and ability to balance risk and opportunity
- Clear communicator who can explain finances to non-experts
- Willing to be hands-on with budgeting, forecasting, and (if needed) working with auditors
