Your role

We are seeking passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds to:

  1. Provide leadership and direction as a Company Director.
  2. Act as an individual ambassador for Tell Us North CIC.
  3. Run the business (e.g. legal, finance, marketing) and promote good governance.
  4. Oversee research and engagement projects undertaken by Tell Us North CIC.

Role and purpose of Tell Us North CIC Board:

The main purpose of the Tell Us North CIC Board is to act as the legal entity for projects, including acting as the host body to deliver Healthwatch activities in Gateshead and Newcastle.

This includes to:

  • oversee the strategic direction of Tell Us North CIC
  • running the business and to prioritise the work to be undertaken.
  • agree work plans based on issues raised and requests received from a wide variety of commissioning agents.
  • Monitoring performance against key performance indicators

Tell Us North is an active Community Interest Company (CIC) and our work is to demonstrate how people’s views can improve services in health and social care; we do this by:

  • Working with local communities to influence and improve the quality of health, wellbeing and social care services.
  • Providing community engagement, research, evaluation and assessment services within the fields of health, wellbeing and social care.
  • Providing training and development of skills and knowledge for the public and community organisations in a variety of forms (e.g. online, in person).
  • Running information, signposting, and advice services for the public about local health and social care services.
  • Providing an opportunity for organisations to share information about their services.

We also run Healthwatch Newcastle and Healthwatch Gateshead, which work to ensure social care and health commissioners and providers listen to local communities to continuously improve services.
