Transforming Communities Together: Tyne to Tweed is part of a national network of faith-based charities dedicated to promoting thriving communities and giving national reach to local action. We work to support churches, organisations and community groups (regardless of faith or of no faith) working together to tackle poverty, deprivation and disadvantage across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
Our current projects include establishing Money Advice sessions, developing Places of Wellbeing, and working with churches to deliver a programme called Know Your Church Know Your Neighbourhood (KYCKYN).
The main focus for this volunteer role is as a Workshop Assistant to support the delivery of KYCKYN, which is a programme of 5-6 sessions run over a period of 3-4 months.
Working with the Development Worker the volunteer will:
- Assist with the room setup and organise refreshments for the arrival of the course attendees
- Register attendees on arrival and give out name badges
- Assist with the smooth running of the session e.g. give out resources, take notes etc
- Clear away refreshment tray and organise them for the mid-session break
- Support the Development Worker to tidy away at the end of the session
There is the opportunity to train as a facilitator to lead KYCKYN sessions with training on offer in this area.
Please note to do this role you do not have to have a faith background.
