Administration Support

Newcastle Vision Support are looking for volunteers to support some of our office administration duties. If you are looking to gain experience in this area, or you have experience and are interested in admin, the charity sector and sight loss, then we’d love to have you on board. This role will require having some knowledge or keen interest in working with visually impaired people, a friendly manner, and an enthusiasm for administration.

Some of the tasks will involve:

Answering phone calls and making enquiries

Making calls to service users for group attendance

Telephone befriending

Assisting with large mail outs

Sending emails

Arranging monthly guest speakers, collecting feedback

We were established in 1867, and our mission has remained consistent since our inception: to support visually impaired individuals in maintaining their independence through information and learning activities. We focus on helping them stay connected with people, services, social groups, and empowerment initiatives. As a completely independent local society, we proudly serve over 1,000 visually impaired individuals in Newcastle.
