Directors help guide Greening Wingrove CIC and make sure it stays true to its purpose and vision. They oversee how the organisation is run, support volunteers, and help ensure everything is working effectively.
Directors share responsibility and make decisions together as a Board.
Main responsibilities
- Support and advise on the organisation’s vision, goals, and activities.
- Approve strategies and policies, and monitor how they’re carried out.
- Oversee finances, including budgets and financial performance.
- Ensure the organisation is well run and managed efficiently.
- Identify and monitor risks.
- Review and approve financial statements.
- Support and challenge the wider volunteer team.
- Stay informed about changes that may affect the organisation.
- Help, review and improve governance.
- Attend and contribute to Board meetings.
- Act in the best interests of the organisation at all times.
- Promote the organisation using your skills, knowledge, and networks.
As this is a small, volunteer-led organisation CIC, directors may also get involved in hands-on support outside meetings (e.g. reviewing documents, advising on projects, or representing the organisation).
The board meeting is one Thursday a month 6-7.30 in person at the Bike Garden in Nuns Moor Park
