Your role as a welcome volunteer is to welcome people as they arrive at the group.
Tasks include:
- Welcoming everyone
- Talking with new people about the group
- Giving new people an information sheet about the group, and a welcome booklet
- Inviting new people to join the email list
- Showing people where the tea and coffee are
- Welcoming people who arrive late and helping them join an activity, if they want to
Tuesdays 3pm - 6pm.
Skills
Open-minded, non-judgmental, warm and welcoming, willing to use a variety of methods to promote communication, sensitive to the challenges members may face, committed to confidentiality, committed to inclusion and equality, able to encourage and promote a safe, friendly environment, willing to be involved in a group project, initiative and ability to volunteer unsupervised, while knowing when and how to ask for advice.
