Warehouse Assistant

As a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping FareShare North East reduce food waste and fight hunger by supporting the daily operations of the warehouse. Your work will help ensure surplus food is sorted, packed, and prepared for delivery to charities, schools, and community groups across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and organise incoming food deliveries.
• Pick and pack food orders for distribution to local partners.
• Ensure food is stored safely and according to hygiene standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
• Work as part of a team to support smooth warehouse operations.

Time Commitment: Flexible shifts available Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am-3pm.

Skills

• Aged 18 or over.
• Physically able to lift and move food crates.
• Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
