Cheer Station Volunteer - Great North Run 2026

Join The UK Sepsis Trust and help us cheer on thousands of runners taking part in the Great North Run while raising awareness of sepsis.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our cheer station on **Sunday 13 September** in **South Shields**. Whether you're an existing supporter of the Trust or simply enjoy encouraging others, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Cheer Station Volunteer, you'll:

• Cheer on and encourage runners as they pass our cheer station.
• Create an enthusiastic and welcoming atmosphere for participants and supporters.
• Wave banners and clap to help motivate runners during their challenge.
• Help raise awareness of The UK Sepsis Trust and the importance of recognising sepsis.
• Support UK Sepsis Trust staff with setting up and packing away the cheer station if you're able.

Volunteer anytime between approximately **10:00am and 4:00pm**, you don't need to commit to the whole day.

Skills

• No previous experience is needed, just plenty of enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a willingness to encourage others.

We're looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging.
• Comfortable engaging with members of the public in a positive way.
• Passionate about supporting The UK Sepsis Trust's mission to raise awareness of sepsis.
