Tyne Activities Coach

We're looking for an enthusiastic and fit individual who would like to support our residents to engage in physical and well-being activities. This opportunity will enable you to support people who have experienced homelessness and other life challenges, helping them to improve their wellbeing and fitness.

You will also enable residents to gain new skills, whilst building their confidence and bringing a sense of pride and purpose back into their lives.

Location: Progression Hub (Tyne Housing), Wilfred Street, Byker, Newcastle, NE61JQ. We support Tyne residents from across the region.

We can negotiate the areas you are able to cover.

Time Commitment: Max 5 hours per week, to be regularly reviewed R

Role Purpose

To assist Tyne Housing in delivering a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized physical and wellbeing activities programme for residents and visitors, e.g football, cycling, walking, etc.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure a safe, friendly, teamworking environment
  • Booking and coordinating activities, including transport, refreshments etc
  • Coordinating equipment and provisions
  • Managing activities programmes
  • Managing group communications, registers, and assisting with associated paperwork
  • Reporting of any safeguarding concerns promptly
  • Operate inline with Tyne’s policies and procedures, e.g. Health and safety
  • Appropriate training will be provided.

Skills

  • Aged over 18 years, and physically fit to perform the duties of the role
  • Ability to support vulnerable adults, and lead physical and well-being group activities
  • Knowledge and experience of managing activities safely, creating and complying with risk assessments
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and a flexible and positive attitude
  • Willing to undergo a DBS check, and complete basic training, e.g. Safeguarding, first aid, etc
  • Knowledge of, and previous football experience preferable
