Do you enjoy filming attractive and engaging video content? Want to use your skills to make a difference to a fast-growing project supporting socially isolated people?
Volunteering Matters are currently in the process of digitising our volunteer training offer. We would love for a few videos to be made to complement the training. In particular, we would love for some location-based filming across the city to highlight the project partners we work with on our Good Neighbours and Home from Hospital projects, and the community-based aspect of the service.
We anticipate the tasks involved in the role being:
- mapping out a plan for two videos to introduce our project partners and their activities, including interviews or narrative, as well as a video introducing the project with shots of local communities across Newcastle
- filming on-site at our community partners in the east and west of the city, as well as at other locations across the city to capture activities and content for inclusion. We have two project partners and anticipate filming taking no longer than a couple of hours at each.
- editing the videos
This is a short-term role, ideally to take place over the summer. However, if you are interested in getting involved longer-term with creating some case study videos of our volunteers and beneficiaries, we would welcome a discussion about your longer-term involvement.
Good Neighbours Newcastle exists to match local volunteers with socially isolated people who need task-specific support to stay healthy and engage with their community. Over the last year, our team of 76 volunteers have supported more than 200 individuals and logged 900+ volunteer hours on the project. At present, we are receiving more than 1 new referral a day to the service, showing there is clear demand for the impactful support that Good Neighbours volunteers can bring.
At all stages, you’ll be supported by the Project Manager of the service. If you would like to have a chat about the role prior to registering your interest, please email matthew.brindley@volunteeringmatters.org.uk
