Brewery Tour Guide

For the beer, culture, and heritage enthusiasts! This is a low-commitment volunteering opportunity for anyone interested in shining a light on Ouseburn's fantastic brewery scene.

Volunteers undergo training and mentoring and be given full support by the existing Volunteer Guides and Trust staff.  

You’ll be responsible for meeting and welcoming visitors and leading the group of visitors to two breweries and a pub, whilst providing heritage and culture stories in between stops using a recommended script and route. 

As a brewery guide, you’ll follow a set route and monitor the time to ensure you make it to every stop. You’ll also be responsible for monitoring and observing the health and safety requirements of the tour, particularly in areas with busy traffic. 

To finish the event off, you can join the group for a beer at the final stop!

Guides will be required to volunteer for three and a half hours at a time.

Tours run on the first Friday of the month, but volunteers are not required to volunteer every month.

Skills

• To be a brewery tour guide, you’ll need a passion and/or interest in Ouseburn heritage and modern culture. 
• Enthusiasm for engaging with people is key, along with excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills.
