Environment Support

Ouseburn has wonderful woodlands and wild corners, with paths and steps for everyone to enjoy the area. Join our Environment Volunteer Team to help us protect & enhance our green spaces.


Enjoy fresh air and good company doing varied green space activities in the Ouseburn Valley

  • depending on seasonal tasks
  • often cutting back hedges,
  • clearing paths and steps,
  • litter picking
  • and other tasks to make the Valley look good.  

You’ll work in small groups, with support from a Lead Volunteer or our Environment Project Officer.

Gloves & tools provided. Please wear outdoor-appropriate clothing.

Skills

You can attend as often as you like, there is no long-term commitment.

Sessions take place:  

  • Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8pm (April to September only)
  • Every Thursday 2pm – 3pm  
  • Every Saturday 10am – 12pm  

Meet at our shipping container behind The Ship Inn (NE1 2NP).

    Supervisors will share their knowledge and experience with volunteers.
  • Training provided
    Training sessions are arranged from time to time e.g. around tool use and first aid
  • Volunteer induction
    Induction to Ouseburn Trust and role specific induction provided
