Bus Driver

To provide safe, friendly and reliable transport for Search Friends, helping them attend Buy and Bite sessions and lunch clubs, reducing isolation and supporting independence.

• Drive the Search minibus safely and responsibly.
• Collect Search Friends from their homes and transport them to Buy and Bite sessions and lunch clubs.
• Provide a warm welcome and friendly support during journeys.
• Stay during lunch club sessions and assist staff and volunteers where required.
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for older people.
• Return Search Friends safely to their homes after activities.
• Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any concerns

Skills

• A full, valid driving licence suitable for the Search vehicle. D1 Licence Required
• Friendly, reliable and patient nature.
• Good communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting older people in Newcastle.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
