Our gardens throughout our Trust sites are such an important part in our patients wellbeing by providing an outdoor space for them to sit outside, being around nature and enjoying nice gardens within their ward environment. It also benefits our staffs wellbeing too.
If you enjoy the outdoors attending to small gardens areas and supporting patients and staff to joining in with activities, then this may be the volunteer opportunity for you.
We are looking for volunteers who are approachable, supportive, and sensitive to the needs of others. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a keen interest in gardening and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Basic gardening tasks on offer will include but not limited to:
· Weeding, planting, maintaining raised bed areas, watering, deadheading to encourage future growth
We provide a full recruitment, training, and screening process for all our potential volunteers. We are also pleased to provide ongoing support alongside wellbeing and development sessions whilst volunteering within our Trust.
We can reimburse agreed travelling expenses (public transport/mileage rate) and free parking on site.
Time commitment: 6 months or more
Hours required: 2/3 hours per week between Monday and Friday
