Do you enjoy talking with people and hearing about their experiences?
Volunteering Matters are recruiting a volunteer to gather feedback on people’s experience as beneficiaries on the Good Neighbours service. These are people who were identified as being socially isolated, and we would love to find out about their experience with us, and how the project has made a difference in their lives.
The tasks you’ll get to engage with include the following:
• Making telephone calls to people as their support on the project comes to an end. We anticipate this being several calls a week, and we will provide a list of questions for you to discuss with them.
• If you prefer, you could visit people’s homes in person to gather feedback. There is no expectation to do so unless you would like to.
• Where further action or signposting is required, liaising with the project manager and advising the beneficiary around next steps.
• If you would like to, you could also get involved in calling or meeting with other volunteers on the project to find out about their experience as volunteers.
This role is remote and can be completed from home. You may need to visit our office in Newcastle city centre once during the application process. The building is fully accessible. We can meet in the community if that is easier for you.
Skills
You will need to be able to confidently communicate with the people you call in English. If you aren’t a native English speaker, your English doesn’t need to be perfect, but you will need to be able to ask questions, take notes and hold a conversation.
You will need your own telephone or mobile phone. If this incurs an additional charge, let us know, as we may be able to reimburse the expenses. We can advise you around withholding your number so that beneficiaries don’t see it, if needed.
We also ask that you are committed to confidentiality with regard to personal data.
