Parks Volunteer

A Parks Volunteer supports the care and maintenance of local green spaces by assisting with a variety of practical gardening and grounds‑care tasks across the park.

Typical activities include - helping to plant and tend flowerbeds, maintain borders, look after orchards and meadows, control weeds, manage pathways, and contribute to general upkeep that keeps the park welcoming and attractive for all visitors.

The role involves working as part of a team under the guidance of a ranger or session leader, following health and safety instructions, and using tools appropriately.

As with all our roles, we ask you to complete a short application form so we can set you up on our volunteer system. You’ll then be invited to book a brief introduction call with our Volunteer and Community Engagement Specialist. This friendly, informal 15‑minute chat is an opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for, explore which roles might suit you best, and learn more about how to get involved.

Skills

No prior experience is required; volunteers simply need to enjoy outdoor activities, be willing to learn, follow guidance, and work collaboratively, with tasks adapted to different abilities where needed.
