Our Trustees are the dream builders who keep our Group on track so young people can gain skills for life. You’ll live by our values of integrity and respect to help us grow.

You will:

  • Play your part in a team that makes the big decisions about our Group's future and finances.
  • Support our volunteers by making sure they have the tools and space they need to deliver inspiring adventures.
  • Think for yourself to help us solve problems and stay safe, inclusive, and grounded.
  • See the big picture to help us connect with our local community and muck in where it matters most.
  • Step up into a leadership role to help us stay organised and optimistic.

    We are a movement open to all. We use positive, person-first language and are committed to supporting volunteers with disabilities to play their part. Please let us know what you need to be successful; we are happy to discuss how we can adapt the role to suit your requirements.

    Must be 18+. Under 18s may volunteer as young leaders.

    Yes - expenses related to activities. Weekly travel costs not covered. Costs for camps, overnights & adventurous activites are also covered.

    We make sure you’re never 'doing your own thing' alone. We’ll pair you up with a buddy—a friendly face to help you get to grips with the role from day one. - We offer a four-week trial period so you can 'give it a go' and see if it's the right fit for you. - You’ll be joining a fantastic, supportive team where we keep things flexible; many of our volunteers help out fortnightly or for as little or as much time as they can spare

    Yes. Being a Trustee is a brilliant way to gain 'skills for life' yourself. - Equipping you for success: We provide the training, tools, and support you need to help us deliver an inspiring programme for young people. - Living our values: You’ll receive guidance on how to lead with integrity, respect, and cooperation. - Seeing the big picture: Training is available to help you understand how to build closer communities and make a bigger impact. - Skills for the future: You’ll gain 'skills for life' that are just as useful in the boardroom as they are at the Scout hall, helping you stay grounded and optimistic.
  • Volunteer induction
    Yes. We’ll help you get started with the right tools and support. You’ll have access to Scouts' online and in-person training that covers all the essentials. This includes learning how to keep the group safe - legally and financially, how to support the volunteers and how to ensure a great program for young people.
